The Finland-based manufacturer Metso (www.metso.com) has acquired Copperstate Industrial Services Inc., a mining services provider based in Phoenix. Metso says the acquisition will strengthen its position as a service and technology provider for the mining and construction sectors.
The deal was completed in early August 2011. According to a Metso news release, about 40 Copperstate employees have transferred to Metso. The new employees will be integrated into its services business line of Metso’s Mining and Construction Technology segment.
“This fits directly in the center of Metso’s profitable growth and development strategy,” says Randy Reisinger, senior vice president of Metso’s Engineered Services Solutions, which includes the Spares, Repairs, Engineered-to-order and Field Service business units. “Metso’s objective is to enhance customer satisfaction by employing a larger faction of knowledgeable, well-trained service people to meet customers’ skills and availability needs.”
