Southern Waste Systems Executive Named to Nova Southeastern University Dean’s Council

Philip Medico, Jr., joins regional and national business leaders in the role.

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences at Nova Southeastern University, Davie, Fla., has appointed Philip Medico, Jr., to the Dean’s Council. Medico is director of government affairs for Southern Waste Systems, headquartered in Lantana, Fla.

Medico has more than 30 years of professional experience in environmental regulation and land-use permitting. Over his career, he has had extensive experience dealing with municipal governmental entities, landfill operations and transfer facility operators of municipal solid waste and construction and demolition (C&D) debris material recovery facilities. He serves as a frequent lecturer on a variety of environmental topics on licensing, processing and permitting of solid waste management facilities and C&D recycling. Medico received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami and his Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law.
