McCloskey International Ltd. has introduced the new 628 Trommel, which allows large scale processors to take advantage of the “quick change” drum feature to pre-screen materials, saving wear and tear on their grinding equipment.
According to McCloskey, its patented “Drum X-Change System” has been in use on smaller trommels, allowing operators to put a single trammel to work on multiple screening tasks with minimal setup time.
The new 628 Trommel measures 6 feet in diameter with 28-foot long screens, making it the first trommel of its size to offer the “Drum X-Change System.” This provides large scale composters, green waste processors and landfill reclamation projects with a trommel large enough to keep up with their production demands and versatile enough to serve double-duty as a pre-screener, according to McCloskey.
“The value in the 628 is that as equipment gets bigger, the price goes up, or course,” says Barry Greenaway, marketing manager for McCloskey International. “Customers can’t buy a new piece of capital equipment for every possible task, so these large operations tend to focus on primary grinding and finished screening. Now, they can complete pre-screening and finished screening with one machine, and the entire business becomes more productive.”
The 628 Trommel can also be equipped with the patented McCloskey 180-degree Radial Stacker with remote control, allowing different types and grades of material to be stacked in different stockpiles without repositioning the screener.
McCloksey International Ltd., Peterborough, Ontario, designs and makes trommel screeners, vibrating screeners, stacking conveyors and picking stations. More information is available at www.mccloskeyinternational.com.
