Town officials in Westminster, Mass., have moved to allow Waste Management to deposit up to 42,000 additional tons of construction and demolition material at the town’s landfill, according to a report in the Sentinel and Enterprise (Fitchburg, Mass.).
The move followed after a series of votes by the Board of Health, Board of Selectmen and Solid Waste Committee.
The Sentinel and Enterprise reports that the town officials have also raided the tipping fee to $15 per ton instead of $10.
