Major Wire Offers Maintenance Seminars

Screening media supplier ties customer seminars to its 125-year anniversary.

Major Wire Industries Ltd. has been holding educational customer screening seminars across North America as a way to celebrate its 125th anniversary as a manufacturer and supplier of screen media in applications such as aggregates production.

Major Wire, based in Candiac, Quebec, Canada, and its dealer network are jointly conducting free “Screen Maintenance Simplified” seminars designed to help producers and contractors run their screening operations more efficiently and save on maintenance costs.

As of May 1, 2009, more than 35 seminars will have taken place involving more than 700 producer personnel from both large and small quarries and sand and gravel production operations.

Founded in 1884, Major Wire is still an independently owned company that provides screening media for quarried and recycled aggregate production, mine operators, asphalt, coal and green waste producers and contractors throughout North America and other parts of the world.

“Major Wire has been very fortunate over the past 125 years to have great customers worldwide that value our high-performance screen media solutions,” says Jean Leblond, president and CEO and owner of Major Wire Industries Ltd. and Major Wire Screen Media Ltd., based near Seattle.

Since Jean Leblond purchased Major Wire in 1990 the company has grown from a largely regional company to one with an international focus, according to a news release from the company.
