Lycon Inc., Janesville, Wis., a provider of concrete and aggregate products, has announced the completion of its integration of the ready-mix concrete, mortar and contractor supply divisions of M&M Concrete. Lycon purchased the divisions from Michels Corp., Brownsville, Wis.
The acquisition of the Michels’ divisions enables the company to serve concrete pavers, commercial construction contractors and homeowners in the rapidly growing U.S. Highway 41 corridor, and the northern and western suburbs of Milwaukee. The move also allows Lycon to serve its existing customers more efficiently, according to a news release from the company.
In addition to the ready-mix operations Lycon acquired from Michels Corp., the recently completed integration also has enabled the company to enter Wisconsin’s bulk mortar market. Lycon now manufactures and distributes “Mortar Technologies” mortars, which are laboratory-controlled mortars and grouts for masonry contractors. Lycon’s new building products division, located in Slinger, Wis., offers the company’s customers additional value by providing concrete- and masonry-related products and accessories.
