The Construction Materials Recycling Association (CMRA) has named Anthony Lomangino of Sun Recycling, Lantana, Fla., to its board of directors.
Lomangino is chairman and co-founder of Southern Waste Systems and its affiliate companies— Sun Recycling, Sun Disposal and All Star Toilets.
The CMRA, based in Eola, Ill., is a national trade organization that promotes the recycling of the more than 300 million tons of construction and demolition materials that can be generated in the United States each year.
Lomangino has spent more than 35 years in the waste and recycling industry. His first foray involved turning a small waste management firm in the Northeast into one of the 15 largest privately held waste management firms in the country.
He founded Southern Waste Systems in 1999. According to a news release issued by Southern Waste, the company has quickly become one of the top independently-owned recyclers of construction and demolition materials in Florida.
