Liberty Tire Recycling to Discuss Rubberized Asphalt

Pittsburgh-based Liberty Tire Recycling, a provider of tire recycling services, has announced that it will highlight the features and benefits of rubberized asphalt at the upcoming 2011 Annual Meeting of the Southeastern Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (SASHTO), scheduled for Aug. 20-24 in Louisville, Ky.

More than 1,000 transportation officials are expected to be in attendance to showcase their materials, technology and professional services. Liberty Tire Recycling will be exhibiting at the conference where it will showcase its product.

"At Liberty Tire Recycling, we are pleased to have a presence at SASHTO to demonstrate how rubberized asphalt offers value to cities and towns.  It is an eco-friendly, cost-effective alternative to traditional paving material," says Jeff Kendall, Liberty Tire’s CEO.

The company provides crumb rubber to a host of municipalities and states. Paving contractors mix the crumb rubber with traditional asphalt to produce a high-performance alternative to traditional paving materials.

According to Liberty Tire, rubberized asphalt resists cracking and rutting, it improves skid resistance, and it makes for a quieter ride. It also decreases maintenance costs and provides an outlet for scrap tires that may have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
