LaSalle Bank Midwest Goes Green

Troy, Mich., headquarters earns LEED Gold certification.

LaSalle Bank Midwest’s Troy, Mich., headquarters has received the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification as a green building.

LaSalle is seeking LEED certification for its headquarter building in Chicago and incorporating green designs in its branches as well, according to a press release from the company.

The Troy headquarters has a number of green building features, including a 50,563-square-foot “green roof made of reflective material so the roof space is heat reflective instead of absorptive.

The building also uses a heat recovery system that pulls heat from the existing data center computers to warm the building, heat water and melt outside snow in entranceways, reducing the amount of energy needed to sustain the building.
