Construction materials company Lafarge North America, headquartered in Toronto, has bid on an 18-acre parcel of land in Santa Rosa County, Fla., for a potential facility there, according to a report in the Pensacola News Journal (Pensacola, Fla.).
Lafarge is one of two companies showing interest in the same site. According to the report, an unnamed beverage distributor has also placed a bid on the land.
The County Commission is expected to approve and agreement to allow Lafarge to store materials for six months on an acre of the industrial park with the expectation that it will open a facility on the site, according to the report.
Lafarge provides construction materials, including concrete, gypsum wallboard and asphalt.
