Beginning in April of 2010, all track-mounted impact crusher plants made by KPI-JCI, Yankton, S.D., will come with the company’s Mobile Star equipment monitoring system as a standard feature.
Mobile Star “allows any computer with an Internet connection the ability to access any machine that is compatible with the Mobile Star control system,” says KPI-JCI in a news release. “Once installed, Mobile Star will monitor all the equipment’s specific operational parameters, including any engine information, hydraulic pressures, and GPS position,” adds the company.
The Mobile Star system also has to ability to send customizable e-mail notifications of operational events and it logs those events for future reference and troubleshooting.
“This is a fantastic benefit to anyone running these plants,” says KPI-JCI vice president of sales and marketing Mike Johnson. “You now have the ability to monitor all your machines, whether on rental or on a job site, and keep them tuned in to give the best productivity possible. Plus, it reduces downtime, which essentially means a better bottom line.”
The Mobile Star system is scalable so it can be used by the owner of a single KPI-JCI unit up to a dealer/rental fleet manager with several machines, according to the company. More information on KPI-JCI and its products can be found at www.kpijci.com.
