The Terminator from Westminster, Colorado-based Komptech Americas LLC is a single shaft universal shredder designed for preprocessing difficult-to-shred waste.
According to the company, its customers require a size-defined, homogeneous product for downstream screening and separations steps. The new XXF shredding unit of the Terminator was designed to address these goals. It features the blade mounting of the company’s F system (fine system) coupled with a new tooth arrangement that puts the full shredding force on just one tooth at any given time, Komptech says.
The precision cut is aided by a newly developed counter comb, adjustable down to a shredding gap of just 2 millimeters for a very fine grain. The company says it is especially useful when shredding tires.
Whether it is contaminated construction and demolition waste, tires, carpet or paper rolls, the new Terminator XXF drum is designed to produce a fine shredded product at high rates of throughput.
