Kobelco Construction Machinery America,
The excavators feature the Kobelco Integrated Noise Dust Reduction system (INDR), a state-of-the-art technology that delivers superior air filtration and a top of the line engine and hydraulic cooling system. This also allows the INDR system to lower noise levels by up to 5 A-weighted decibels (dBA) by quieting both intake and exhaust air.
Both machines employ proven, Tier III-certified engines for powerful performance, with 6 percent higher fuel efficiency than previous models for lowered total cost of operation. Quiet, tandem, in-line hydraulic pumps, combined with the Kobelco Intelligent Total Control System (ITCS); provide excellent breakout force with smooth hydraulic controls and the precision necessary for fine grading and leveling.
The power-mode selection feature allows the operator to choose from four different modes, depending on the job: the H Mode allows heavy digging and high productivity, while the S Mode delivers standard digging and increased fuel savings. The other two work modes include the B Mode, which powers one way flow attachments (e.g., breakers), and the A Mode for attachments that require two way flow.
“We understand the challenges that arise when working in restrictive or tight job sites,” says Paul Golevicz, brand marketing manager at Kobelco
In addition to the combination of power and practicality, both models provide operators with cab comfort. The operator-oriented cab design provides maximum space and visibility, easy to read instrument panels and climate control features to increase operator productivity.
While both use the same engine, the 235SR ACERA provides more breakout force than the 215SR and features a heavy duty boom, arm and undercarriage as standard. A high and wide undercarriage is optional for special construction, demolition and forestry applications.
