Kirby-Smith Machinery Inc., Oklahoma City, has announced its replacement of longtime vice president and general manager Glen Townsend with two new regional general managers.
Townsend, who retired in July 2014, held the dual position since 1996. David Cooper, who has been with the company since 2012, was promoted to fill the role of vice president and general manager, south division, from his previous role as the company's North Texas area manager. Cooper has nearly 40 years of experience in the equipment industry. He is based out of the Dallas branch.
“My philosophy has always remained the same, with a focus on core values,” Cooper says. “Take care of the customer in a fair and honest manner. I enjoy helping customers build their businesses by finding the right equipment to meet their needs and backing that equipment with outstanding parts and service support.”
Jeff Weller fills the role of vice president and general manager, north division, and will be based out of the Oklahoma City branch. Weller comes to Kirby-Smith Machinery Inc. from Link-Belt Mid-Atlantic in Mechanicsville, Virginia, where he has worked for the past 28 years, most recently serving as the general manager. Weller has 35 years of experience in the equipment industry.
“Growing up, my dad and grandfather ran a Ford Dealership in Southwest Iowa,” Weller says. “They taught me to deal with customers honestly, fairly and directly. They also taught me not to hide from problems, never over-promise, and always try to exceed expectations.”
Kirby-Smith has 10 branch locations in Oklahoma, North Texas, West Texas, Kansas and Missouri.
