Keltbray, an Esher, England-based demolition contractor, recently posted a video detailing how the company methodically engineered a way to remove a bridge at the Ferrybridge “C” Power Station in West Yorkshire, England. The bridge needed to be removed as part of the company’s comprehensive demolition work at the site.
The company conducted a comparative risk assessment to determine the safest way to demolish the bridge before formulating a strategy to deploy a crane on a reinforced concrete pad to lift the structure, which would later be sheared on-site.
