A Superior Court judge has ordered Jackson County, Ga., commissioners to grant a permit to build a construction and demolition debris landfill to a company that was originally denied permission in 2001, according to a report in the Athens Banner Herald (Athens, Ga.).
The denial of a permit for Earth Resources Inc., Carnesville, Ga., sparked a lawsuit, and the case was sent back to the commission in January 2004. Jackson County Superior Court Judge T. Penn McWhorter’s ruling came down in favor of Earth Resources Inc. on March 18.
