A New York State Supreme Court judge has issued a temporary restraining order against a company trying to re-open the former construction and demolition debris transfer station operated by Metro Enviro at Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., according to a report in the Journal News (White Plains, N.Y.).
The ruling will keep Northeast Interchange Railway (NIR) from operating the site until at least April 11, the deadline for the village of Croton to file additional court papers.
Metro Enviro, which handles C&D debris, was closed in September after a legal battle with the village over operating violations, according to the report. Village officials are now caught in a new legal battle over Northeast Interchange Railway operating its own transfer station at the site.
