Jeffrey Specialty Equipment Corp. and Rader Cos. Announce Merger

Companies will centralize operations as Jeffrey Rader Corp.

Following the September 2007 acquisition of Rader Cos. Inc. by Jeffrey Specialty Equipment Corp., the two companies will merge on or around Jan. 1, 2009.

The companies will operate as Jeffrey Rader Corp. and will unveil a new logo.

Both Jeffrey and Rader are manufacturers serving the pulp and paper, forest products, building materials, coal mining and energy generation industries. Together, they provide a range of equipment and systems for these industries as well as for the emerging bio-energy industry.

“Our goal with the new name and logo is to retain the identity of both organizations,” says Doug Sublett, U.S. sales and marketing manager. “We want an identity that represents our new and stronger company and yet is still recognized by our many Jeffry and Rader customers. We believe we have captured all of this in our new logo.”

Jeffrey Specialty’s facility in Woodruff, S.C., will be the headquarters for the combined company. The 135,000-square-foot facility will house a majority of manufacturing, procurement, sales, engineering, research and development for the organization. Rader’s management and engineering staff have completed their relocation to the South Carolina facility and have closed the Alpharetta, Ga., office. The current management teams have been integrated.

Rader’s offices in Vancouver and Montreal, Canada, and Stockholm, Sweden, will continue to operate in those locations. They will do business under the new name and logo.
