JCB, with world headquarters in Rocester, Staffordshire,has unveiled the 20-metric-ton JS20MH, designed for municipal solid waste handling companies, transfer stations, material recovery facilities and recyclers.
The JS20MH joins JCB’s established JS200W Wastemaster , a conventional wheeled excavator adapted for the needs of scrap and waste handling industries, the company says.
The JS20MH shares the engine and hydraulics with the company’s JS175W model. The undercarriage has a completely new design and features a centralized slew turret for increased all-round stability and uniform lift performance throughout the 360-degree rotation, according to JCB.
The JS0MH is powered by a 123-horsepower engine and fitted with a 5.7-meter straight boom. Options include a 4-meter gooseneck dipper for scrap applications or a shorter 3.0-meter straight dipper for waste applications, each creating a smaller rig than the JS200W Wastemaster, the company says. The maximum achievable pin reach is approximately 9.5 meters.
A reversible fan is included, and a Turbo II air precleaner is designed to provide additional engine filtration. Cab guarding, front and rear light guarding and red and white chevrons on the excavator’s rear end combine for machine protection and on-site safety, while operator comfort is enhanced by an air-conditioned cab, according to JCB. All of these features will be included as part of the standard JS20MH.
