JCB Acquires Compaction Equipment Company

Construction equipment company announces acquisition of German manufacturer.

 

JCB Inc., a Britain-based construction equipment company with a U.S. headquarters in Savannah, Ga., has announced the acquisition of German-based Vibromax Compaction Equipment GmbH.

 

The company will be known as JCB Vibromax and will be managed as part of the JCB Group with local management retained in Germany and North America.

 

Products will be marketed as JCB Vibromax and will carry the JCB logo, and production will continue at the existing factory in Gatersleben near Leipzig.

 

The acquisition is expected to be completed in early September, subject to regulatory approvals.

 

Vibromax designs, manufactures and distributes compaction equipment, including a line of single-drum soil compactors, vibratory tandem rollers and trench rollers, as well as light equipment such as tampers and plate compactors.

 

JCB has been manufacturing construction equipment for more than 60 years. With a world headquarters in Staffordshire, England, the company has manufacturing facilities in the U.K., North and South America and India. It has also acquired land and permission to build a factory in China.
