The Washington-based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) has converted the home page of its website to prominently display links to documents it has issued in response to the COVID-19 epidemic.
“The coronavirus is a topic that is on everyone's mind,” states the association. “Taking measures to prevent the spread of the virus is vital to ensuring the safety and well-being of those in all of our communities. ISRI has compiled guidance to help recyclers operate safely during this time.”
Documents issued by ISRI during March address several topics, including:
- Basic Individual Hygiene Practices;
- General Safety Checklist for Recycling Operations;
- Specific Guidance for Truck Operations;
- Mental Health;
- Regulations Update; and
- a notice on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issuing an expanded hours of service emergency declaration.
