Hallstrom

Hallstrom recently sold Hallco Manufacturing in light of his declining health. His involvement with the conveyor industry spanned more than 40 years.

Born in 1929 Hallstrom grew up in Tillamook County, Ore., on the family dairy farm and studied engineering at Oregon State University. World War II, however, cut his college years short, as he returned to help operate the dairy farm.

His interest in mechanics led him to invent and manufacture small equipment for the dairy industry, which eventually expanded into agricultural material handling equipment and the development of many patents, among them the live floor conveyor.

Hallstrom continued to take an active role in product development and research until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary; his children, Vickie, Steve, Cindi, Dan and Penni; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial funds have been established in Hallstrom’s name for the YMCA. Contributions can be send care of Waud’s Funeral Home, 1414 3rd St., Tillamook, Ore. 97141.
