Hitachi to Introduce Excavators at ConExpo

Manufacturer will debut two Zaxis models.

Hitachi Construction Products will roll out two new excavators at ConExpo 2008, as well as showcase the company’s ZXLink telematics machine monitoring system.

Hitachi will display the new reduced-tail-swing Zaxis 135US-3 and the Zaxis 220W-3 wheeled excavator equipped with a wrist attachment. In addition to these new models, there will be a Zaxis 350LC-3 and the 84-metric-ton Zaxis 850LC-3 equipped with ZXLink.

The ZX135US-3 replaces the 135US and incorporates Tier-3 emissions standards. It comes with the CRES II cab, which is larger than before and has a wider seatback, more leg room and more glass on the right hand side for improved visibility, according to the manufacturer.

The ZX220W-3 is also Tier-3 compliant and comes with wheels, not tracks. Mobile and maneuverable, it is designed to quickly move from spot to spot and is pavement-friendly, according to Hitachi.

Hitachi’s ZX850LC-3 will be equipped with the Ultimate version of the company’s ZXLink telematics machine monitoring system. Available in three levels—Standard, Advanced and Ultimate—the Ultimate version comes standard on the Dash-3 Zaxis 450, 650 and 850 excavators, with three years of service included in the price of the machine, when purchased from an authorized Hitachi dealer.

ConExpo will be March 11-15, 2008, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. More information about the event is available at www.conexpoconagg.com and more information about Hitachi is available at www.hitachiconstruction.com.
