Highway Equipment acquires Scott-Gallaher

Acquisition broadens Highway Equipment’s coverage to the mid-Atlantic.

Highway Equipment, an equipment and parts dealer for the construction, demolition and mining industries based in Pittsburgh, has acquired the equipment distributor Scott-Gallaher, which is headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia. As part of the acquisition Highway Equipment says it will integrate Scott-Gallaher’s team into its new division called Highway Equipment Co. Mid-Atlantic.

Highway Equipment says the acquisition will allow the company, with six locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio and the Mid-Atlantic Region, to extend its service reach and increase its list of services it can provide to create greater efficiencies and responsiveness for new and existing clients.

“We are excited to expand our footprint into this important market,” says Highway Equipment President Thomas Reynolds. “We are even more proud to add the capabilities and industry expertise of the Scott-Gallaher team to Highway. We are in sync with our focus to provide superior service for our customers. Ron Scott Sr. has earned a strong reputation throughout his more than 40 years in this business, and Ron Scott Jr.’s fine leadership has continued to build Scott-Gallaher. We are honored to continue this legacy of excellence.”

Scott-Gallaher will continue its existing operations under the name Highway Equipment Company Mid-Atlantic. Ron Scott Jr. will lead this team as sales and operations manager. “The combination of these great companies and the ability to assist our loyal customers with Highway’s resources will pay dividends,” says Scott Jr. “Highway Equipment shares the same values of service and integrity, and our customers will immediately see the benefits of this relationship.”

“This was a great opportunity to grow and work with people we like and admire. It is one part of our plans for the future,” says Reynolds.
