Herkules Equipment Corp., a Walled Lake, Mich.-based manufacturer of lifting equipment, has designed a cart positioner to reduce ergonomic problems for workers. Operators can raise and lower material on their carts to a desired height, reducing potential injuries while loading or unloading. According to the company, the cart positioner was designed to fit existing carts’ size and capacity needs for a smooth implementation into a facility.
The new scissor lift has many safety features including a whisker-style cart present switch that will enable the lift to operate only when a cart is correctly loaded, a green wink eye located on the control pedestal to visually inform the operator that the cart is properly loaded and an attached steel skirting to prevent operators from any pinch points between the cart and the floor. Additionally a removable safety bar can be inserted once the cart is located on the positioner to secure the cart in place.
The scissor lift is powered by Herkules’ Air Bag technology which provides a direct one-to-one lift ration for a smooth and stable lifting motion, according to the company.
