Hayden Wrecking, Washington Park, Illinois, earned the Associated General Contractors of America’s (AGC) 2016 Outstanding Subcontractor of the Year award for its Interstate 70 (I-70) project.
The I-70 project included the demolition of the dual structures carrying the interstate over the Kaskaskia River in Illinois. The project was completed in partnership with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Plocher Construction, Highland, Illinois.
The project encompassed a variety of challenges, including a tight schedule to lessen the impact on travelers, as well as an overall complex demolition venture. The resident engineer at IDOT nominated Hayden Wrecking and general contractor Plocher Construction for meeting these challenges, as well as providing a safe, clean and on time project for the award.
Ben and Nick Hayden accepted the award on Hayden Wrecking's behalf at an Associated General Contractors of American (AGC) of Illinois award ceremony.
