The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has invited the public to comment on the draft LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Retail – New Construction rating system, which has recently completed pilot testing.
LEED for Retail was developed to meet the unique needs of retail design and construction projects, including lighting, sites, security, energy and water concerns.
The public comment period will be open for 45 days, starting Monday, May 14 and continuing through Wednesday, June 27.
If changes are made to the draft, a second public comment period will be conducted on those changes, and the resulting draft will then be sent to the USGBC membership for balloting.
Comments can be made online by visiting www.usgbc.org.
