Greenlight Financial Services, a direct-to-customer mortgage lender based in Irvine, Calif., has announced the launch the Green Loan Discount, which will offer a discount on home loan fees to qualifying eco-conscious consumers who purchase, build or practice green principles that conform to LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) standards.
Consumers will be asked to fill out a questionnaire on the Greenlight Web site to determine if they qualify for the Green Loan Discount. Questions range from consumer usage of energy-efficient appliances, use of solar heating and composting, what type of car the consumer drives and how many people live in the home. Customers certifying that they meet the criteria will then receive a full fee dismissal, which amounts to a savings of $295, according to a news release from Greenlight.
“The Green Loan Discount” was created as part of our ongoing commitment to green thinking,” says Joann Pham, Greenlight CEO. “The world climate is changing and Greenlight is pleased to be taking a leadership role in promoting social corporate responsibility that promotes positive change and awareness in consumers.”
