The Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) has unveiled a green building program called the GHBA Green Building Initiative, according to a report in the Houston Business Journal.
According to the report, the program will provide a baseline for practical green building approaches for local builders.
The GHBA Green Building Initiative guidelines will be based on established green building principles including minimizing solar heat gain, maximizing natural light and ventilation and choosing green materials.
The initiative will also provide technical expertise to help local builders use the guidelines, according to the report.
