Redmond, Washington-based Genie has introduced its new line of boom lifts, the Xtra Capacity (XC) boom lifts that are designed to work in more applications that require higher capacities. The first model in this new series in the Genie SX-135XC.
All Genie XC booms provide a range of motion with a platform capacity of 660 pounds and a restricted operating envelope capacity of 1,000 pounds. Genie XC booms are engineered with an updated boom structure that boasts a jib capable of handling the standard 1,000-pound maximum capacity.
The Genie SX-135XC is packed with features, including 90 feet of outreach, 660 pounds unrestricted lift capacity, the ability to work 19 feet 8 inches below grade and a 12 foot 11-inch x 13 foot 6-inch compact footprint.
The new boom complies with the overload restriction guidelines in the proposed ANSI A92 and CSA B354 industry standards in North America, as well as the current European EN280 and Australian AS 1418.10 standards.
All Genie XC models are designed with the ability to do zero-load field calibration. These new Genie booms are equipped with a load sense cell that continuously checks the weight in the platform and adjusts the envelope to match the load chart. A tilt sensor also gives users access to different ranges of motion based on the machine’s rated slope limit.
Built to lift operators to full platform height—135 feet—in 2-1/2 minutes and drive enabled at full height, the Genie SX-135XC boom lift will position workers and gear where they are needed.
An updated CAN-based control system on most of the new Genie XC models brings the SmartLink control system features to these new booms.
The Genie SX-135XC boom’s design includes a working envelope ideal for the most extreme access jobs with a working height of 141 feet and a horizontal reach of 90 feet.
The boom also has an 18 foot-30-foot Telescoping Jib-Extend jib, which offers operators up and over capabilities, as well as 125 degrees of jib articulation, boasting 55 degrees down to 70 degrees up of vertical articulation. The working envelope is also increased with this boom’s extended reach out and down capability—19 feet 8 inches of reach below grade.
Genie SX-135XC boom features the new Genie mini XChassis axle design, which extends and retracts the axles to and from the stowed position—8 feet 2 inches x 13 feet 6 inches retracted or 12 feet 11 inches x 13 feet 6 inches extended—to provide both stability on the job and a narrow profile for transport.
The boom lift is transportable on a standard trailer; no over width or over height permits are required.
The new Genie XC booms share commonality in design, parts and accessories, as well as serviceability benefits, including easy access to crucial service points, with all Genie products.
