St. Paul, Minnesota-based demolition firm Frattalone Companies has reportedly submitted the winning bid to take down three county government-owned buildings in Anoka, Minnesota.
In mid-December, the Anoka County Board awarded the demolition contract to Fratallone Cos. after its winning bid of slightly more than $270,000, according to the Anoka-based ABC Newspapers website.
Frattalone Cos. submitted the lowest of nine bids received, according to the newspaper, to tear down the buildings located on the same city block near the Anoka County Government Center.
Two of the buildings are recently vacated office properties while the third is a house the ABC website describes as having “not been occupied for many years.”
Anoka County intends to construct a new parking facility on the site. That may, in turn, lead to the demolition of an existing parking structure so that land parcel can serve as the site of a new county jail.
A county employee quoted by the website says demolition could start in January of 2023 and will be completed after the ground has thawed sufficiently to reach underground utility installations (possibly May).
