For Goodness Slate has introduced a recycled-art product line of oil candles and table top fountains made using old slate roof tiles. Company partners Tracey John and Matt Sisk buy and accept donated slate from barn demolitions, rooftop repairs and fallen slate pieces from roof damage in central Ohio and transform them into pieces of art for the home or office.
According to the partners, the recycled slate is naturally weathered, often broken, tarred and otherwise would end up in the landfill.
“Living in a world full of waste, we take great pride in salvaging this slate, cleaning it, treating it and chiseling it into beautiful new creations,” says John. She adds that no two pieces are alike.
