Forestry Resources Inc., Fort Myers, Fla., a company that supplies landscaping material, has announced its use of the WizTech P-60 FlashFoam Colorizer in producing colored mulch.
The foam colorization process, designed by Wizard Technologies LLC, Toms River, N.J., uses a foam-based colorant ¾ much like shaving cream ¾ designed to cut down on drying time, according to a release from Wizard Technologies.
“Before, three days of drying time was the least amount required,” says Rob James, vice president of Forestry Resources. “It really was a cumbersome process.”
In addition to reducing drying time because of the colorant’s low-moisture content, Wizard Technologies says the foam process can also reduce colorant consumption and extend the shelf life of bagged products.
James says the foam also reduces fading and run off on mulch piles.
Anthony Hesse, president of Wizard Technologies, says the FlashFoam colorizing system can be adapted to most types of coloring-compatible mulching machines -- horiztontal and tub grinders as well as any trommel.
