The Flagler County (Fla.) Commission has delayed confronting the problem of the county’s nearly full construction and demolition debris landfill until October, according to a report in the Daytona Beach News-Journal (Daytona Beach, Fla.).
A proposal to add two acres of additional property to the county’s current site has been brought before the commission.
At a Sept. 6 meeting, the county’s solid waste director said the landfill would be full by year’s end, according to the report.
However, the News-Journal reports that the commissioners resisted making a quick decision saying that residents should be given time to comment on the proposal.
