FCC Environmental Services acquires Gel Recycling

Houston-based waste management and recycling company FCC Environmental Services has announced it has acquired Gel Recycling Holdings, one of Central Florida’s largest recyclable processors.

Gel Recycling operates a total of four facilities located in Orange City, Daytona Beach, DeLand and Jacksonville, and is the largest municipal processor in central Florida with multiple contracts in Florida. FCC is a global waste management and recycling company offering services in more than 35 countries.

The strategic move includes adding three recycling facilities and a construction & demolition debris landfill to FCC’s Florida operations. The company says the acquisition not only strengthens its presence in the recycling industry in Florida but increases potential synergies that will be achieved through its multiple collection contracts in the central Florida market.

“I believe the integration will be a great move for FCC and Gel Recycling, as we merge two companies with an exceptional quality of service, with a large market presence in the hauling and postcollection lines of business,” says Juan Gorriti, head of acquisitions for FCC Environmental Services. “The synergies will allow FCC to further solidify its market presence, placing FCC within the top service providers within the state of Florida.”

Additionally, FCC will incorporate 120 employees and 4 new locations in Florida.
