The holidays are coming, and with them, inevitably cleaning up after the holidays.

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has tips for an environmentally sound Christmas clean up in one of its publications, which features guidelines for communities interested in setting up Christmas tree recycling programs.

“Christmas Tree Recycling Program Guidance: Bringing New Life to an Old Holiday Tradition” explores methods of collection, options for tree recycling and budget planning. The publication also includes case studies of successful programs and state contact information.
