Eriez Announces Expansion Plans

Company is set to grow in United States, Canada, China and India.

Eriez, headquartered in Erie, Pa., says it will expand its operations in the United States, Canada, China and India to address the growing global demand for its products.

“We are proud and excited to report that Eriez is not only growing at home, but also across the globe,” Tim Shuttleworth, Eriez president and CEO, says.

The company says it purchased a 114,000-square-foot building about 15 miles from its Erie, Pa.  headquarters. When the new building is complete it will house the company’s service center and handle the manufacturing of Eriez’ largest equipment, including recycling systems, column flotation cells and hydroflow fluid filtration and recycling equipment.

The company says it expects to move operations to the new building by the end of 2011.
In Canada, Eriez’ Minerals Flotation Group (EMFG), headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., will move from its current location to a larger building nearby.

“This brand new building is being custom built to suit EMFG’s needs,” Mike Mankosa, Eriez vice president of operations, says. “Our new facility will allow us to build our larger proprietary equipment in-house, rather than utilizing sub-contractors.”

EMFG’s offerings include flotation columns for minerals and liquids, StackCell high efficiency mechanical flotation cells, Hydrofloat coarse particle flotation cells, gas injection systems and mineral processing test equipment.
The company says it hopes to move into the new building by early 2012.

Eriez China will add another manufacturing operation in Tianjin to supplement its current Qinhuangdao plant. “Our new facility in Tianjin gives us an additional 10,905 square meters, including 1,650 square meters of office accommodation,” Andy Lewis, international vice president, says.

“Our new building in Tianjin will be ideal for building our Hydroflow fluid filtration equipment, suspended magnets, recycling products as well as some of our other large pieces of equipment,” Lewis says. “Our target move-in date is August 2011.”

Eriez India is moving to a new factory facility near Chennai, located on one of the largest industrial estates in Asia. Lewis says, “This facility has two factory buildings measuring 25,600 square feet with an array of sophisticated cranes as well as welding and rolling machines and more.”

The new space will enable Eriez India to manufacture Eriez products to the highest quality standards, while offering faster delivery. Lewis explains, “In addition to the factory buildings, this facility also has an office lab building measuring 8,700 square feet. This lab has the facility to test both dry and wet type samples for our customers using high quality pilot testing equipment manufactured by Eriez.”

Both of the buildings are under construction and Eriez India is planning to shift to the facility in September 2011.
