Equipment Makers Tout ConExpo Results

Extec and Fintec report favorable returns from Las Vegas event.

Extec Screens and Crushers Ltd. and Fintec Crushers and Screens Ltd. have pointed to the ConExpo event as “a roaring success,” with the two companies netting orders worth in excess of $20 million.

Extec and Fintec, both now part of the Sandvik group of companies, say they enjoyed a staggering demand for its products during the five-day ConExpo show, which took place in Las Vegas in mid-March.

The companies, which were launching the Extec S-7 mobile screen and the Fintec 1440 mobile impact crusher, issued a news release to confirm orders valued at more than $20 million during the show, adding that a large number of major orders came from U.S.-based companies. Additional orders were taken from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Eastern Europe, Germany and from across the Middle East and Far East.

“ConExpo 2008 was a phenomenal success for us,” says group marketing manager Roger Murrow. “This was the first time that Extec and Fintec had exhibited side-by-side as part of Sandvik and the response from customers was just overwhelming. In particular, the new Extec S-7 and Fintec 1440 models proved extremely popular.”

The Extec’s S-7 features the same double-screen design as the S-4, S-5 and S-6 and boasts a triple-deck configuration together with an additional side conveyor.

The Fintec 1440 is a track-mounted impact crusher designed for quarrying, demolition and recycling applications.

ConExpo 2008 featured more than 2,000 exhibitors and attracted more than 144,000 people from around the world, including more than 28,000 from nations other than the United States.

“We’re absolutely delighted at the response from U.S. and international customers to both the new and existing products,” says Murrow. “This has been, without question, the most successful exhibition we’ve ever attended. Our primary reason for exhibiting at ConExpo was to unveil our two new models and to remind customers that we’re now a part of the massive Sandvik group of companies.”
