DALLAS – Irrigation manufacturer Weathermatic recently announced the 34th year of its factory training program. Known as the College of Irrigation Knowledge (CIK), the program is designed to educate Weathermatic distributors, their employees, contractors, specifiers and professionals in related fields. The CIK will be held at Weathermatic’s headquarters in Dallas.
The five-day course, which will be held weekly from January 3 to March 17, 2000, includes lectures, demonstrations, and practical exercises. All subjects required to design a landscape sprinkler system are covered in the course, using Weathermatic’s "Turf Irrigation Manual," "21 Secrets" and "Pathway to Profits" as textbooks. Registration for each class includes all of the books and materials needed for the class. To provide individualized instruction to attendees, each CIK class is limited to enrollment of 12 students.
Richard Choate, an ASIC lifetime achievement award recipient who has taught the class for more than 20 years, will once again teach the class. Choate is the author of the "Turf Irrigation Manual 5th Edition" and has more than 36 years of experience in the landscape irrigation industry, including all phases of design and training.
Gene Johnson assists in teaching the class. Johnson has more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of advertising and promotions for irrigation contractors. His presentation includes valuable tips on implementation of "The Contractor’s 21 Secrets for Success."
For more than 50 years, Weathermatic has offered a variety of products and services, education and training, market research and industry advocacy to irrigation professionals.
