A New Jersey-based company pleaded guilty in federal court April 11, 2011 to conspiring to illegally dump 60 million pounds of debris – later found to contain asbestos – in a wetland area of Herkimer County, N.Y.
The corporation, Eagle Recycling, also admitted in U.S. District Court that the company’s former owner, Nicholas Morangi, and other individuals further conspired to cover-up their violations of state and federal environmental regulations.
