Doosan adds new excavator model

Wheeled excavator has EPA Tier 4-compliant engine.

Doosan, West Fargo, North Dakota, has expanded its United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier 4-compliant wheeled excavator lineup with the new DX210W-5 model. In addition to a Tier 4 diesel engine, the new model features improved fuel efficiency from a new Smart Power Control (SPC) selectable engine mode and other enhancements, says Doosan.

The SPC engine mode comes standard on the DX210W-5 in one of two systems — variable speed control and pump torque control — that work together to improve machine efficiency while maintaining productivity and reducing fuel consumption, according to Doosan.

Other features offered by the new model include:

  • two-pump auxiliary hydraulic flow designed for high-flow attachments;
  • an optional floor pedal for operators to activate the two-way auxiliary hydraulics;
  • an ergonomic joystick designed to improve operator comfort and ease of use;
  • a relocated rear camera designed to enhance rear visibility;
  • a camera monitor that allows operators to monitor machine information while the camera is on;
  • an alternator that provides 80 amps; and
  • an emergency stop positioned on the seat base to make it easier for operators to reach.

The Doosan DX210W-5 wheeled excavator also comes with a standard three-year subscription to Doosan Telematics, which allows equipment owners and fleet managers to remotely monitor machine location, hours, fuel usage, engine idle versus work time and error codes, as well as engine and hydraulic temperatures.
