Months after a chemical plant explosion in the Clifton neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, crews have begun removing debris on site.
In a community letter sent earlier this month, company representatives with Givaudan Sense Colour said there would be increased activity at the site at the end of January, and that the demolition could take a few days.
The plant located on Payne Street exploded around 3 p.m. on Nov. 12 with many workers inside, news station WLKY reports.
Investigators say a cooking vessel failed likely due to over-pressurization, and the incident was ruled accidental.
The building subsequently collapsed, with two people dead and more than a dozen hurt. The company says it does not plan to rebuild at the same site.
