County officials in Muscatine County, Iowa, have approved a deal to demolish an old annex building by this coming spring.
The Board of Supervisors approved contract documents and specifications for demolition of the annex building, which includes two items: asbestos inspection and removal if needed as well as the demolition of the building.
Bids will be opened Jan. 17, 2005.
Supervisors decided to demolish the former county office building earlier this year when they purchased the HNI Corp. office building on Third Street, directly across from the courthouse.
In an unrelated story, the county board of supervisors are reviewing a special use permit to allow Earthcare Recycling to receive wood waste and process it into other products. Muscatine Journal
