The National Demolition Association (NDA) is offering a one-and-a-half-day seminar focusing on demolition estimating Feb. 21-22 in Atlanta at the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Airport/Millenium Center. Throughout the workshop, attendees will learn proven estimating techniques for a wide variety of projects in multiple industries as well as the general process, from conducting an initial site visit to analyzing the success of a bid. During the seminar, attendees will work through a sample bid and compete with small groups to create the most qualified bid for a project.
This course is taught by facilitators Mike Casbon, the technical director for the London-based Environmental Resources Management, and Greg Menen, the director of demolition services for Salt Lake City-based Rocky Mountain Recycling, both of whom collectively have over 50 years of experience in demolition estimating. More information about facilitators is on NDA’s website.
By the end of this seminar, NDA says attendees will be able to:
- Prepare a quantity take off of building systems, walls, floors, roof, foundations and demolition debris
- Estimate the cost of general conditions
- Use equipment and labor pricing to price your estimate
- Prepare a basic and conceptual estimate of a demolition project
Registration for NDA members costs $795 and $995 for non-members. The registration covers course attendance, all materials, lunch on Thursday and breakfast on Friday. NDA has a room block at the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Airport/Millenium Center from Feb. 20 through February 22 at a discounted rate. The room block deadline is Jan. 20.
