A demolition crew found their equipment vandalized at a work site in Palos Verdes Estates, California, a report by the Los Angeles Times says.
The trucks and equipment used by Ampco Contracting Inc., Anaheim, California, had scratched paint, according to the report, and fabric containers used to carry debris were slashed. Some equipment stored at the site was set on fire, including an air compressor.
The demolition company was tearing down a stone shelter built by suffers on Lunada Bay, the report says. The shelter consists of stone retaining walls, a patio with a stone table, a fire pit, a rock bench and wood canopy. A group of surfers called the Bay Boys used the shelter as a fort, the report says.
Police are investigating the incident.
