Demolition Convention Features Townsend

C&D Recycler Magazine Contributor Summarizes Trends.

Demolition contractors and their suppliers who attend next week’s 30th Annual Convention of the National Association of Demolition Contractors (NADC) will receive an update on recycling trends.

Frequent C&D Recycler contributor Dr. Timothy Townsend of the University of Florida will address NADC attendees on Tuesday, April 1 at 9:00 a.m. on the topic, “Current Issues and Trends in C&D Debris Recycling.”

Townsend is expected to address such concerns as lead-based paint and CCA-treated wood in the demolition stream, as well as offer an overview of recycling’s place in the demolition industry.

The session is part of four days of programming, trade show display exhibit hours and networking events scheduled from March 30 to April 2 at the Renaissance Orlando Resort in Orlando, Fla.

Equipment on display will include concrete and asphalt crushing equipment and mobile material handling equipment, while other service providers, including C&D Recycler magazine, will have booths set up in the NADC exhibit hall.

Networking opportunities include NADC’s annual golf and tennis tournaments, cocktail receptions, a sports theme party and the annual banquet.

Additional session topics will include “How to Survive an OSHA Inspection,” and indoor air quality update, and a “Lessons from Ground Zero” session featuring speakers from companies that took part in the clean-up and recovery effort in New York City.
