Jeff Kroeker joins National Demolition Association officer team as treasurer.

The National Demolition Association has re-elected four of its five officers for 2008-2009, and welcomed Jeff Kroeker of California’s Kroeker Inc. as its new treasurer.

The group held its annual meeting on Tues., Feb. 26, as part of its 35th Annual Convention, held at The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The following officers were voted in and installed for the coming year:

  • President: Drew Lammers, Cohen Brothers Inc., Middletown, Ohio
  • Vice President: Ray Passeno, Bierlein Cos., Midland, Mich.
  • Secretary: Don Rachel, Rachel Contracting, Maple Grove, Minn.
  • Treasurer: Jeff Kroeker, Kroeker Inc., Fresno, Calif.
  • Past President: Dave Loewendick, S.G. Loewendick & Sons, Grove City, Ohio.

Outgoing treasurer Paul Conway, DEMCO Industrial, Houston, reported that the association’s financial health was good, with some $1.1 million in its reserve account.

President Drew Lammers remarked that National Demolition Association staff and volunteers have made considerable progress on a strategic plan as well as on continuing to build the association’s relationship with Purdue University as a provider of demolition-specific coursework and an upcoming textbook.

Additional volunteer help is also on the way in the form of The Industry Council, a consortium of 15 industry vendors and suppliers that formed in 2008. According to Lammers, these associate member volunteers will meet regularly with the group’s board of directors to report on specific tasks and to share input, ideas and industry knowledge. Neil LeBlanc of Caterpillar Inc. and Curt Frahm of Genesis Attachments are the Council’s inaugural president and vice president.

Lammers also gave the following dates and locations for the National Demolition Association’s 2008 board meetings:

  • June 20-21, San Diego
  • Sept. 12-13, Washington, D.C.
  • Dec. 5-6, Hollywood, Fla.

The former Safety Summit event has been re-named the Demo Academy and will take place Oct.15-17 in Atlanta. The event will offer expanded educational options that include safety and site management topics.

Next year’s National Demolition Association Convention and Annual Meeting will take place April 5-8 at the Dolphin & Swan resort in Orlando, Fla.
