Construct My Future will begin accepting applications for its annual construction education scholarships Nov. 1.
The program has been providing funding for post-secondary education with a construction focus to individuals for the past three years.
Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in or accepted to post-secondary vocational education programs that focus on construction. Individuals already employed in the construction field are also eligible to win funds to purchase tools and improve their ability to learn and perform new workplace skills.
ConstructMyFuture.com is an informational Web site dedicated to exploring careers in construction. The site is a joint effort of three leading trade associations – the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the Associated Equipment Distributors Foundation (AEDF), and the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
A panel of representatives from all three groups sort through over 100 applications each year.
Applicants will be judged on current and past involvement in the construction field – not age or academic standards.
Applications will be accepted through Feb. 4, 2005 and the recipients will be notified by March 15.
