Connecticut Recycler Plans Biomass Power Plant

CT Waste Transfer seeking permits to install biomass-to-electric-power plant.

 

Shelton, Conn.-based CT Waste Transfer LLC has announced plans to install a 12-megawatt biomass-to-electric-power plant as part of an expansion project, according to a report in Biomass Magazine (Grand Forks, N.D.).

 

The company has begun the permitting process for a gasification system that would process clean wood debris from land-clearing, construction and demolition operations.

 

The company sorts and processes 200 tons of C&D debris and municipal solid waste per day, according to the report. Its expansion plans include adding an addition 15,000 square feet, which will allow the company to process an addition 800 tons of mixed debris per day.
