Thomas Rankl of Rankl Sand and Gravel is seeking a variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals that would allow him to conduct recycling operations on his seven acre property. According to the report, town regulations require a minimum of 100 acres for such an operation. New activity could include rock crushing and recycling asphalt and concrete.
Neighbors have raised concerns over dust and additional noise and traffic.
The Zoning Board of appeals will take up the matter at its July 18 meeting.
